SO BASIC, SO PURIST
Our definition of basic is a fundamental piece that could be worn 50 years ago, today and in 50 years. This is the reason why we focused all our efforts to idealize one of the most iconic shapes: The Pantos.
Combined with a French manufacturing, a fair prices philosophy and a choice of colors never offered for a single frame and against the current of an economy in total over-creation, the first purist and mono-product concept in the Eyewear industry was born in summer 2015.
Notre définition du basic est une pièce fondamentale que l’on pouvait porter il y a 50 ans, aujourd’hui et dans 50 ans. C’est la raison pour laquelle nous avons focalisé tous nos efforts pour idéaliser une des formes de lunettes les plus iconiques : La Pantos.
Associé à une fabrication Française, un prix raisonné, un choix de couleurs jamais proposé pour une seule et même lunette et à contre courant d’une économie en totale sur-création, le premier concept puriste et mono-produit de l’industrie optique est né durant l’été 2015.
MASSIVE OVER-PRODUCTION

Since its inception in 2015, Pantos Paris has embedded waste management and sustainable development in its core values by proposing a long lasting, sustainable, and timeless collection. Thanks to the strong partnership we have put in place with our French manufacturer, and thanks to a thoroughly controlled supply chain, Pantos Paris has proudly delivered the following over the past 7 years : over 50 000 frames, no sale and ZERO UNSOLD units.
La surproduction massive est certainement l’une des principales préoccupations du monde dans lequel nous vivons. Depuis sa création en 2015, Pantos Paris a intégré la gestion des déchets et le développement durable dans ses valeurs fondamentales en proposant une collection permanente, durable et intemporelle. Grâce au partenariat solide que nous avons mis en place avec notre fabricant Français et grâce à une chaine d’approvisionnement parfaitement maitrisée, Pantos Paris au cours des sept dernières années, c’est plus de 50 000 montures, aucune solde et ZERO INVENDU.
OYONNAX
in the heart of the mountains located 500 kilometers from Paris, is the cradle of French Eyewear and the starting point of our adventure. All our production is entrusted to one of the most experienced manufacturers, a family business so out of touch with the mass market. Their names are Béatrice, Jean-Luc, Nicole, Henry…and are indispensable to the success of our development. Every craftsman works according to the rules of the art of shaping “handmade”, the machining is notably produced on pantograph called “Traditional machining”. Thanks to them, we protect our know-how and continue to leave a legacy.
Oyonnax, au coeur des montagnes, situé à 500 kilomètres de Paris, est le berceau de la lunette en France et le point de départ de notre aventure. Toute notre production est confiée à l’un des fabricants les plus expérimentés de la région, une entreprise familiale aux antipodes du marché de masse. Leurs noms sont Béatrice, Jean-Luc, Nicole, Henry…et sont indispensables au succès de notre développement. Chaque artisan travaille selon les règles de l’art du “fait main”, l’usinage est notamment réalisé sur pantographe, de la façon la plus traditionnelle. Grace à eux, nous protégeons notre savoir faire et continuons à transmettre un héritage.
ONE PANTOS
requires more than 40 steps of manufacturing for his production. Authentic hinge rivets 5 barrels, acetate 8mm, laser engraving, nose pads machined into the solid material, CR39 anti-reflection are some elements to get a quality glasses.
Plus de 40 étapes sont nécessaires pour produire une Pantos. Charnière rivetée 5 charnons, acétate 8mm, gravure laser, plaquettes de nez usinées dans la matière, verres anti-reflet CR39… sont les éléments pour obtenir une lunette de qualité.
BIO ACETATE
is integrated in our collection since 2017 and now for all our new and future colors. Our Italian supplier Mazzucchelli 1849 has anticipated the evolution of the market by developing in its laboratories a formula that combines the physical mechanical characteristics of the classical formulation with a characteristic of strong eco-sustainability: Traditional plasticizer has been replaced by a plasticizing solution of vegetable origin, thus making M49 a bioplastic with a remarkable bio-based content.
Depuis 2017, nous avons commencé à intégrer l’acétate Bio dans notre collection et désormais pour toutes nos nouvelles et futures couleurs. Notre fournisseur italien Mazzucchelli a anticipé l’évolution du marché en développant dans ses laboratoires une formule qui combine les caractéristiques physico-mécaniques de la formulation classique avec une caractéristique de forte éco-durabilité: Le plastifiant traditionnel a été remplacé par une solution plastifiante d’origine végétale, créant ainsi un bioplastique avec un contenu biosourcé remarquable.
